  • 1. By signing up for the Event, the participant agrees that the Organiser might post the full race results on the website after the race.
  • 2. Registration packs Bib No. Collection centre, Date of issue will be published on web site web site
  • 3. Chek in before 45 mins of your respected race to ensure warm up.
  • 4. Get as many of your family and friends to join us all at the looping course so that they can cheer you on at several points and get you to your personal best time and make it your memorable race as you see their placards, they photograph you and cheer loudly for you, as well as the other runners.
  • 5. The medical team, water, toilets, sports drinks and time check will be there at various points, traffic Police, Volunteers.
  • 6. Please inform for an ambulance or aid if you ever do feel dizzy or unsteady.
  • 7. The races are chip timed Half Marathon 21.097 km , Geen Run 10 km,5 km fun category race.
  • 8. On entry confirmation, half marathon, 10 km and 5 km runners will be further classified into age categories for prize money. For more information visit
  • 9. All confirmed participants/their authorised representatives are required to come to the Get Active Expo in SANGLI, Event Venu scheduled from in order to collect their running number bibs. No running number will be posted to individual mailing addresses.
  • 10. It is mandatory for all individual participant to collect his/her running number personally from the Expo. In case of unavoidable circumstances, such runner can send his/her representative to collect running number bib on his/her behalf. Please note, a representative will not be allowed to collect running number bib on behalf of more than ONE Half Marathon/Timed 10K/ 5K participant
  • 11. Authorized representative must carry with him/her website confirmation photo-identity proof (Aadhar card, PAN card or passport) of the representative and the confirmed participant. Confirmed runner's identity and proof of residence may be verified by a verification agency hired for validating the details provided by you in the form. Where any information and/or any document provided by an applicant/runner at any point in time is found to be incorrect, participation of the said runner shall be withheld/ disqualified and there will be no refund of application fees paid by the runner. All benefits accruing to the said runner as a participant of 6th SHAHID MARATHON shall stand forfeited.
  • 12. The Organizer reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these rules and regulations of the Event from time to time as they deem fit. If there is ambiguity in any of the provisions, the Organizer shall be the authority to interpret and in doing so, the Organizer will take into account the interests of all the affected participants. Any updates on the rules and regulations of the event will be notified on the official website, and it is the responsibility of the affected participant to keep abreast with any changes.
  • 13. Completion of the official entry form, including online registration, confirms the Participant's agreement to abide by all the relevant rules and regulations of the Organizer.
  • 14. Registration for the race is only confirmed upon payment made and upon issuance of a race identification number.
  • 15. In consideration of the Participant's use of the Event's website, the Participant agrees to;
    • A. Provide true, accurate, current and complete information about the Participant contained in any registration form (such information being the “Registration data”
    • B. Maintain and promptly update the Registration data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. The Organizer may contact the Participant from time to time by email and msg. Any notice sent to the email address registered with the Organizer shall be deemed as received by the Participant. If the Participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, obsolete or incomplete, or the Organizer has grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, obsolete or incomplete, the Organizer may suspend or terminate the Participant's registration and refuse any and all current or future use of the Event's website (or any parts thereof) without any refund of registration fee.
  • 16. There will strictly be no fee refund if the event is cancelled for reason of force majeure i.e. due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organizer or acts of any natural calamity which renders it impossible or unsafe to hold the event.
  • 17. The Organizer reserves the right to amend the Event race routes as they deem fit for the safety of the Participants and/or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of the Event, at any time without prior notice to the Participant. In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participant prior to the date of the Event. The Organizer shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes.
  • 18. While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organizer to ensure the participants' safety, participants run solely at their own risk and the Organizer will not be responsible or held liable for any injury or death howsoever arising from training for, during, or after participation in the Event. Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual Event day.
  • 19. The form on the reverse side of the participant's running bib must be completed in full and accurately. Participants must wear the assigned bib on his/her chest. Participants who do not display bib numbers will be taken off the course by security officers/officials and immediately disqualified.
  • 20. Participants might start from different Start Points based on their estimated time of completion. Participants are to assemble in their respective Start Points which are reflected on their Bib.
  • 21. A participant must retire from the race immediately, if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff, Race Director, Referee, and/or security officer.
  • 22. Pets, bicycles, in-line skates, prams, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers and any other wheel-run objects are not allowed on the course other than official race and medical vehicles.
  • 23. Once registration has been duly processed, there will be no fee refund for participants who do not eventually participate in the Event for whatever reason.
  • 24. The Organizer reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Event, for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising and distribution to Sponsors anywhere in the India.
  • 25. The Organizer reserves the right to limit and/or refuse entry to the Event and/or other program(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) or any other activities involving the Organizer without giving any reason and/or notice.
  • 26. The Organizer will not entertain nor be in any way responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate entry details in the registration form.
  • 27. The Organizer reserves the right to cancel and/or add any race category without prior notice to the Participants.
  • 28. Participants are strictly not allowed to transfer their race entries to another party or change race categories after their registrations are confirmed.
  • 29. Any participant who commences to run before the actual flag-off of his/her registered race category will be immediately disqualified. (Please refer to individual race category start times).
  • 30. Participants who do not start within 20 minutes of respective flag offs ( Half Marathon, 10km), for safety reasons may not be allowed to start and will be immediately disqualified.
  • 31. Participants must be 18 years or older as of Event day to participate in the Half Marathon (21.097km) category.
  • 32. Participants must be 16 years or older as of Event day to participate in the Elite open 10 km Green Run.
  • 33. Participants must be 12 years or older as of Event day to participate in the Fun Run (5km) category.
  • 34. Participants below the age of 18 are required to obtain parental/guardian's consent and complete the relevant indemnity declaration form as deemed necessary by the Organizer upon registration, failing which, the Organizer reserves the right to refuse entry to any applicant under the age of 18.
  • 35. A participant is considered a veteran if his/her 40th birthday falls on or before the Event day and must participate in the Veteran Categories (for competitive categories).
  • 36. The Organizers will not be responsible for any loss and/or damage, personal or otherwise, to the belongings and items deposited at the event baggage storage provided for the runners. The Organizers also reserve the right to check any item or baggage deposited.
  • 37. There is a total of Seven (4) individual distance categories
    • A. Half Marathon (21.097 km)
    • B. Green Run 10 km
    • C. 5 km Fun Run
    • D. 2 km Champions Run physically Challenged
  • 38. General Rules for Half Marathon and 10km (Competitive events) The 'Gun Time' will be used to determine the winners for each of the following categories;
    • A. Men's Half Marathon and 10km (All category)
    • B. Women's Half Marathon and 10km (All category)
  • 39. The 'Net Time' will be used to get an overall ranking in all categories
  • 40. Runners need to finish the competitive events within a certain time to be eligible for a Finisher Certificate. The cut-off times are as follows:
    • A. Half Marathon : 3.30 hours
    • B. Green Run 10km : 2 Houre
    • C. Fun Run 5 km : 1 hour
  • 41. General Rules for all competitive events (Half Marathon, 10km, 5 Km)
    • A. Each participant is allowed to win only one prize-money award. A winning participant in more than one category may elect to receive his/her award in the category offering the higher prize money. Regardless of the winning participant's choice of prize, his/her position in each of the relevant categories will not change.
    • B. The Organizers reserve the right to replace any winners if he/she is found to be disqualified.
    • C. Prize winners must report to the prize giving zone as stipulated on their winner tag. In case a runner fails to do so, the Organizers may donate the cash prize money to charity.
    • D. All prize-winning Participants must present their identification document (such as Adhar Card, Voter ID, Passport or Identity Card) to collect their prize money.
    • E. Prize money above INR 10,000 will be submitted to the winner through bank transfer within 45 days.
    • F.For prize winners or possible prize winners, disputes and appeals must be made within 30 minutes of the published results on the results notice board on-site or immediately after the prize presentation, whichever is earlier, failing which the Organizer reserves the right not to entertain any disputes or appeals thereafter.
    • G. For all other participants, disputes and appeals regarding the results must be submitted in writing including electronic mail within 4 days of Event day. The Organizer reserves the right not to entertain any dispute or appeal after 30.12.2018
    • H. The timing chip is a single-use, disposable device attached on the bib. Participants can deposit the timing chip in the recycle bins at the finish area after their race if hey wish to do so.
    • I.All participants (Half Marathon,10 km Green Run, 5 Km Fun Run ) who successfully complete the competitive events will be awarded a finisher's medal upon presentation of their bib number to the respective officials.
    • J. All participants who successfully complete the Half Marathon or 10km Green Run, 5 Km Fun Run within the respective cut-off times will be awarded an e-Certificate of Participation. The e-Certificate of participation will be made available on the website by 25 Jan. 2019. This entitlement will not apply to Participants who are unable to complete the race within the respective cut-off times, are disqualified or do not complete the race.
    • K. Participants who finish after the respective cut-off times will not be eligible for finisher certificates.
  • 42. Participants with cardiac history are adviced to counsult your specialist doctor prior registration.

The boys gathered together for sports and body wealth, and they were gathered together. The emphasis on the concept of saheb was very good. Saheb made a platform for everything. Many people have been appointed as a police. Some have helped financially to achieve success in the game.

Their welfare meant life. Saheb used to focus on self-realization of all inclusive knowledge and inquire into the basic guidance and affection. He used to have a lot of attention on the nutritional and all-round development of all. He has implemented many schemes for this.

Western Maharashtra is a diamond mine. It is believed that western Maharashtra will get recognition in the field of sports. Many believe that the number of players getting the Olympic medal will be ready from these mines. But there was a different feelings of destiny. Saheb was SHAHID in a terrorist attack while performing duty in Mumbai on 26.11.2008.

All of us have actually fallen asleep. We all were actually a minor. Dreams did not even dream, but it actually happened.

We were also taking one step forward in the infinite memories of the funeral procession of his father. The desire, aspiration, dream of sage was in front of the eye.

They have an idea lightening in the sky. If all the wishes of the authors are to be judged on the head, then in memory of them, they started a foundation for the players in their name. The idea came as a real tribute to the poor students by creating on Olympic Games, adopting them, and making them dream of their dream. On 26.11.2009, on the first “Death Anniversary” of SAHEB, the Shahid Ashok Kamte Smruti Foundation was established in Sangli. For this Foundation established with the permission of his great patriot Smt. Vinita Tai Kamte.

Through this organization we have taken the inspiration of the people, of the nation by preparing the prayers of society, unity in society, equality and patriotism.

26th November, the history of Mumbai became dark, Ashok Kamte Saheb had recently returned from duty. There was a demonstration. The control room got the phone ! saheb has started. Gang war again in Mumbai. Bhartmatas son started taking steps to go to the spot at the usual time.

Just like them, the Salaskar Saheb and Karkare saheb left foe the place of evil. There was a differentiatedness in the minds of the wicked.

Some of these happenings have not happened with luck.The victims of the racist tendencies took, the kasab killed the victims of three Bhratmatas Son. They also became immortal. Police Dal and Maharashtra suffered huge losses.

Medical Advisory for participants in the 6th Shahid Marathon 2018 on 25th Feb 2018

• Adequate Training:
A Half Marathon (21 Km), is a respectable distance and requires adequate preparation before taking part in it. The 6th Shahid Marathon 2018 route has a fair amount of elevation which requires more intense effort. Runners should have at least run one 15- 18 km distance in their last 3 or 4 weeks before taking part in the event. If this distance has not been covered as part of their training, they would be considered as not being adequately trained for the event and their ability to complete the distance would be in question.

• Recent Illness:
Runners who have been suffering from any fever / cold / cough in the past ten days and are on medication for the same may reconsider their decision to take part in the Half Marathon. Antibiotics and other medication can impact the ability to undertake strenuous athletic activity. Kindly consult your doctor.

• Chest Discomfort During The Run:
If during the course of the run a runner feels any discomfort in the upper part of the body he should stop running and seek medical advise. Such discomfort can be a pain in the jaw or a constriction around the body that is unusual, rapid breathlessness, etc. It is better to be safe than to be sorry.

• Severe Pain In Limbs:
If a runner feels any pain in the legs, or muscular cramps, that is unbearable and causes the runner to change the gait, it might be advisable to stop running and seek medical counsel before deciding on the further course of action.

• Stay Hydrated:
The weather may turn hot and humid and it is thus advisable to stay adequately hydrated at all times. The current position stand of the American College of Sports Medicine is to consume 150-200ml of water every 20-30 minutes. A wise hydration strategy starts from the day before.

Most of us run marathons and Half Marathons to achieve a certain fitness level, Preparation is key to both achieving your desired fitness level & running a successful marathon. Your preparation begins three to six months prior to the event.

What Do I Need To Run?
The basics include running shorts, a t-shirt, and running shoes. Well-fitting running socks and underwear are also important. Depending on the weather, you might want sunglasses, a jacket, a hat, gloves, or spikes. Those wishing to track their speed or distance might run with a GPS-equipped device, odometer, or heart-rate monitor.

SHOES : Things To Consider When Purchasing Running Shoes
Proper fit is essential. Running shoes should fit snugly, yet comfortably in the heel and midfoot area. Be sure to leave about a thumb’s width space between the toes and the front of the shoe when standing as the arch flattens easily when running.
High price doesn’t necessarily mean high quality; however, it is reasonable to assume that very inexpensive running shoes may not be as durable as more expensive footwear.
Anyone who runs regularly should wear running shoes. Shoes should be carefully matched to an individual’s skeletal anatomy (e.g. leg and foot shape), pronation type (normal, over, and under pronation), and the surface on which you usually run (e.g. trail shoes). Modern shoe construction is focused on producing a shoe based on the specific needs of individuals based on a variety of factors.

Running Clothes
Fit and comfort, not appearance, are the most essential factors to consider when choosing running clothes. The basics are a running shirt, shorts, and socks, plus a sports bra for women. For colder weather, you may want to wear layers that include a running jacket, tights, gloves, and a hat. Weather-resistant, reflective clothing made from materials like Gore-Tex or Sympatex are also good to have on windy or rainy days.
Basic cotton t-shirts have been replaced by technical running shirts. Cotton absorbs sweat, eventually becoming wet, heavy, and unhygienic. Tech shirts are made from special, lightweight materials that wick sweat from the body, keeping the body cooler and dryer even on hot, humid days.
Running shorts and tights are made from lightweight, flexible polyester or spandex and are available in lengths ranging from short to mid-calf and ankle length. Tights are sometimes preferable to shorts because they help prevent chafing that might result from shorts rubbing against the inner thighs in hot weather. Ankle length tights often have a zipper near the foot to make them easier to get on and off. Many running bottoms have a small pocket in the back to carry keys, money, and other small necessities.

Recovery time is dependent upon duration and intensity of exertion and the physical fitness and capacity of each individual. Moreover, recovery tends to vary between different parts and functions of the body. While creatine phosphate stores may be replenished almost immediately, the normalization of the cardiovascular system can take between 6 and 24 hours. The replenishment of muscle glycogen and fat stores in the liver and muscles requires between 1 to 5 days, and more than 3 days is required for the regeneration of proteins in the muscle fibers.
The resting heart rate may be used to assess the recovery process. Insufficient recovery time will result in a higher heart rate during exercise. An increase of 510 beats per minute indicates a partial recovery. Larger heart rate variability can be used to determine whether or not the body has undergone full recovery.

The forefoot strike is associated with increased stress on the leg muscles as well as increased pressure on the forefoot. The entire body weight and acceleration are absorbed by the calf muscles when landing, resulting in higher stress upon the Achilles tendon. For this reason, Achilles tendon complaints are frequently reported among forefoot strikers. Running on the forefoot requires greater strength in the calf muscles to prevent symptoms of overuse.
However, this style of running does have its benefits. Because most of the landing impact is absorbed by the muscle, this technique is relatively easy on the joints, especially in the hips and knees.

There are different techniques but retraining is difficult.The main distinction between running styles is whether the foot lands with a toe, mid foot, or heel strike. Running style is automatically established when an individual first begins to run. Because the musculoskeletal system is adapted to running technique, it is often difficult to adjust the style of movement without also drastically changing the way in which the body distributes weight and pressure. Typically, a change in running technique is recommended only in the instance of specific orthopedic problems.
Weight loss occurs when the body exerts more energy than it consumes. Regular running increases energy consumption and may result in weight loss as long as excess energy consumption is not matched by food intake. Running also builds muscles strength. Because muscle weighs more than fat, a person may notice a change in bodily appearance without a significant drop in weight.
